I just joined. What should I do first?
Create the organization and team roles first. Then prepare contacts, venue/layout, event and guests.
Should I work alone or with a team?
Small events can be solo. Larger events benefit from team roles for guests, seating and moderation.
Do web and mobile serve the same purpose?
No. Web is for planning and management; mobile is for quick tracking, guest flows and photos.
Planning
What is the difference between contacts and guests?
Contacts are reusable. Guests belong to a specific event and carry RSVP, plus-one, VIP and seating data.
Why prepare venue and layout first?
Seating, self-seating and table assignments depend on the layout.
When should I check plan limits?
Before sending invitations.
Is auto-seating enough by itself?
It is a good starting point; sensitive groups need manual review.
Guest flows
Why should RSVP be completed first?
Attendance affects seating, catering, tables and capacity.
Should self-seating be open to everyone?
Not always. Approval mode is safer for formal or protocol-heavy events.
What are guest messages for?
They let guests send notes about transport, allergies or attendance changes.
Memories and Find Me
Who should share the Memories QR link?
The organizer or event team. Use table cards, displays or entry signs.
Where do guests upload photos?
Guests open the Memories QR code or public link, then choose photos from the mobile app or browser. They can also use the camera when allowed.
Are uploaded photos published immediately?
It depends on moderation settings.
Why does Find Me require consent?
It includes face matching, so explicit consent and cleanup are required.
How does selfie recognition work?
After consent, the guest uploads a selfie. AWS Rekognition compares it with approved event photos and returns matched photos to the guest.
Which photos does Find Me search?
Only approved event photos should be used.
Mobile
Can guests act without the mobile app?
Yes, public links work in the browser.
Do iOS and Android links open the app automatically?
They do when Universal Links/App Links are configured; otherwise browser fallback works.
Should I do all organizer work on mobile?
No. Use web for bulk data, layout drawing and detailed seating.
Security
How should photos and selfies be protected?
Use controlled S3 upload. Find Me selfies must stay private and follow retention rules.
Why is role management important?
Least-privilege access reduces data and operational risk.
How are SMS and email opt-outs handled?
Respect unsubscribe, STOP/DUR and opt-out records.
